Focus on Baosteel Car Body for Electric Vehicles and new brand GONAtech.
At this year’s Aachen Engineering Days, our team proudly presented the newly developed Baosteel Car Body for electric vehicles (BCB-EV) and our new brand Gonatech. Also, our experts Dr. Luo Aihui from R&D Center Baosteel and Mario Padovani, CMO EMEA at Baosteel Tailored Blanks, gave a presentation on the concept of the BCB-EV and our new production technology for welding materials for hot forming on the 2nd day of the conference.
At our booth, experts in car body development, material and production technologies had the chance to examine the BCB-EV closely, its advanced solutions, materials as well as forming and joining technologies. The concept of the BCB-EV is a perfect combination of materials and technologies to make electric vehicles safer and lighter.
Also on display: a laser welded hot formed door ring produced with GONAtech. We, at Baosteel Tailored Blanks, put our efforts in developing a more sustainable production method. It was worth it - producing tailor welded blanks for hot forming now requires less energy. How do we do this? We simply do not have to ablate anymore. Safe and sustainable.
